Diamond Creek

Diamond Creek is California’s first exclusively Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Vineyard. Established in 1968 in Calistoga, Napa Valley, by Al Brounstein, a visionary pioneer who defied modern conventions and planted Bordeaux varietals on secluded Diamond Mountain in the Napa Valley.

The three distinctive soils on this mountain estate are divided by a meandering creek. The lighter ash soil of the 8 acre Volcanic Hill vineyard is in sharp contrast to the iron rich soil of our 7 acre Red Rock Terrace vineyard and the pebbly texture of the 5 acre Gravelly Meadow vineyard. Cool afternoon breezes from the ocean on the West mix with the Napa Valley heat on the East creating a diverse weather pattern. Because of these unique microclimates the harvest typically takes place over a month’s period of time. Diamond Creek pick each section of our vineyards at their optimum ripeness resulting in as many as 15 to 20 different pickings. The pure waters and unique soils together with winemaking perfection have created great wines cherished all over the world.

We invite you to taste the differences imparted to the wine by the distinct soils and microclimates of Diamond Creek Vineyards.

Svahn Cru is proud to represent this legendary winery on the Swedish market. The first release is Diamond Creek Volcanic Hill 2005, see Products.
